Motorola`s Moto E (Gen 2) launched at Rs 6,999


Motorola today launched the 3G and 4G variants of the second-generation Moto E smartphone in India, priced at Rs 6,999. The smartphone will be available available from midnight Wednesday via Flipkart.The company, however, did not reveal the price of the 4G version, but promised that it will be launche in the next couple of months.




The 3G version of the Moto E is powered by 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 32-bit processor and a 400MHz Adreno 302 GPU. The LTE version has a 1.2GHz quad-core 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor and a 400MHz Adreno 306 GPU. It comes with 8GB storage space and 1GB of RAM.

The phone sports a 4.5-inch, 540x960p display and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, same as the one on the first-generation model; and run Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system.


Motorola has introduced some new covers that it calls ‘Bands’. These bands are available in six colour options including Golden Yellow, Turquoise, Blue, Raspberry, Purple and Red. The new model also gets five “Grip shells” available in Golden Yellow, Charcoal, Turquoise, Blue, Raspberry.


One of the biggest drawbacks of the original Moto E was the lack of a front-facing camera. With the new Moto E, Motorola has fixed the issue with the 0.3MP (VGA) front camera; the original Moto E did not have a selfie shooter. Motorola has added autofocus capability to the rear camera.



The battery capacity has also increased to 2,390mAh, up from the 2,080mAh powerhouse of the first-generation model.

Motorola has now doubled the storage capacity to 8GB in the new model. Moreover, one can also opt for the 16GB model. It can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD card slot
