Apple`s new iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3 - World's thinnest Tablet

Apple, unveiled a new line-up of iPads that feature its mobile payments system and include the fingerprint unlock used on iPhones. Apple said the new iPad Air 2 will sell for Rs. 35,900, and the smaller iPad Mini 3 will start at Rs. 28,900. Apple unveiled its new iPad Air 2 calling it as the "world's thinnest tablet" along with the new iPad Mini 3 while introducing its new Mac operating system, Yosemite X.

The iPad Air 2 with WFi models will be available at Rs 35,900 for the 16GB model, Rs 42,900 for the 64GB model and Rs 49,900 for the 128GB model. iPad Air 2 with WiFi + Cellular models will be available for Rs 45,900 for the 16GB model, Rs 52,900 for the 64GB model and Rs 59,900 for the 128GB model.

iPad Mini 3 with WiFi models wil cost Rs 28,900 for the 16GB model, Rs 35,900 for the 64GB model and Rs 42,900 for the 128GB model. iPad Mini 3 with WiFi + Cellular models will be available for a suggested retail price of Rs 38,900 for the 16GB model, Rs 45,900 for the 64GB model and Rs 52,900 for the 128GB model.

iPad Air 2 would be thinner than its rivals, with upgraded graphics power and other features. The iPad Air 2 also features an 8-megapixel iSight camera and a new-generation A8X chip, which has 3 billion transistors.

The iPad Air 2 comes with a more powerful processor that delivers livelier graphics, improved battery life and Touch ID, the fingerprint unlock system that Apple introduced last year on its iPhones.

Apple also upgraded its smaller tablet, called the iPad Mini 3, which will also have the Touch ID system. Pricing will start at $399 for the new iPad mini, and $499 for the iPad Air 2. Apple will cut prices for the current iPad models.

The iPad mini line has been updated to include iPad mini 3 with Touch ID and iPad mini with Retina display, now called iPad mini 2. The iPad Mini 3 comes in silver, space gray and gold.

The new line-up aims to help Apple regain ground in a tablet market increasingly dominated by the rival Android platform. The new slimmed-down tablet comes after last year's iPad launch prompted rivals to say they had a slimmer profile.
