Samsung today
launched Galaxy Note 4 in India. The phablet
will cost Rs 58,300 and will be available in stores from October 17.
Samsung's Galaxy Note 4 retains the 5.7-inch screen of last year's
model, but adds a speedier processor, a better screen, better cameras
and software to fit more people into selfies.
The 5.7-inch Galaxy Note 4 comes
with S-pen stylus allowing users to draw and write on the screen and
perform various tasks simultaneously.
The Galaxy Note 4's display
measures 5.7 display in a metal frame, slightly larger than the biggest
iPhone, reflecting Samsung's latest design strategy to keep pace with
rivals including Apple.
The new model offers accessories
designed to attract gamers and an improved pen stylus and related
software as a handwriting alternative to typing on a keyboard. It boasts
easier to use multi-tasking features that take advantage of its large
screen.
The Note 4 is equipped with a 16
megapixel rear-facing camera featuring a Smart Optical Image Stabilizer
that counter-balances camera shake and automatically extends exposure
time in dark settings and a 3.7 megapixel front-facing camera with f1.9
offers a default 90 degree shooting angle and up to 120 degree wide
angle so users can take the best group shots with friends.
While the new Note device
appears to meet expectations on key features such as the quad
high-definition display and a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera, the
improvements are incremental and suggest further struggles ahead for
Samsung to differentiate its product, especially with large-screen
iPhones.
The Galaxy Note 4 runs Google's
Android Android 4.4 (KitKat) operating system and Samsung has produced
extras such as the ability to show multiple apps on the same screen at
once.
