As smartphones get smarter and smarter, user demands also seem to increase rapidly. These days we want our smartphones to do absolutely everything.

Wishful thinking, but this is where intelligent personal assistants in smartphones come to the fray.

There’s Apple’s Siri; Samsung has SVoice, LG’s Voice Mate and then there’s Google Now. Rest assured. This is not a comparison, rather an insight into what all Google’s new scion is capable of.

Released in July 2012, Google Now has taken significant strides towards achieving a cult status among Android users. It is integrated with Google Search and Voice Action, and uses a language user interface to perform actions.

Educational qualifications of Modi’s ministers!

Smriti Irani's educational qualifications led to a full-blown war of words between the Congress and the BJP, as the former intensified protest against an "undergraduate" being appointed human resource development minister whereas the BJP countered it with questions on Sonia Gandhi's academic background. While the row continues between those who think Smriti is under-qualified for the job and those who feel it is wrong to make her qualification a political issue, we take a look at the educational background of Modi’s cabinet ministers. Sergey Brin, co-founder of the technology titan, told a Southern California tech conference on Tuesday evening that Google will make 100 prototype cars that drive themselves and therefore do not need a wheel. Or brake and gas pedals.

Instead, there are buttons for go and stop.

A combination of sensors and computing power takes the driving from there.

To date, Google has driven hundreds of thousands of miles on public roads with Lexus SUVs and Toyota Priuses outfitted with the special equipment.

NASA Images Find 1.7 Million year old Man-made Bridge

The NASA Shuttle has imaged a mysterious ancient bridge between India and Sri Lanka. The bridge was purportedly passable on foot until 1480 AD when a cyclone moved the sand around.

This recently-discovered bridge has been found to be made of a chain of limestone shoals. Its unique curvature and composition by age reveals that it is man made. The bridge currently named as Adam’s Bridge (most popularly known as Ram Setu) is about 18 miles (30 km) long.

Google cameras to safeguard your home soon!

Soon, Google CCTV cameras may secure your house from intruders.

The multinational corporation is reportedly planning to buy home security camera firm Dropcam.

San Francisco-based Dropcam offers a $150 internet-connected camera.

The camera is controlled from a special app.

Using the special app, users can see live feeds, zoom and record footage.

It also has a night vision mode, two-way talk back and digital zoom, said a report on tech blog The Information.

"Google's Nest division is plotting a move into the home-security market and has considered acquiring connected camera-maker Dropcam to accelerate the push, according to several people close to Google," the blog reported.

Google has recently bought a thermostat company Nest.

The Google move comes as Apple is preparing to turn the iPad into a universal 'home remote' that could control everything from TVs to washing machines and lights, the blog claimed.
