China to spend $182 Billion to boost Internet by 2017


China will spend more than $182 billion to boost Internet Speed by the end of 2017, a top government body said, as Bejing moves rowards a more service-driven economy to boost growth. The state council said the government will invest more than 430 billion yuan ($69.3 billion/0 this year on network construction, with at least another 700 billion yuan ($112 billion) spent over the following two years.

YouTube celebrates 10th Year


Having launched as a smaller beta in May 2005, YouTube celebrated its 10th anniversary on April 23.The first video ever posted was called "Me at the zoo," featuring YouTube co-founder Jawed Karim. Just one year after its launch, Karim and co-founders Cha Hurley and Steve Chen sold YouTube to Google for US$1.65 Billion. Its now the third-most-visited website, following Google and Facebook with some 800 million user.

Nepal gets Digital support


On April 25, a 7.9 magnitude earthquake hit Nepal with tremors an aftershocks killing over 5000 people. According to a report in the Wired, the combine efforts from digital volunteers across the world have helped map the quake affected ares in Nepal in just 48 hours. The numbers of degital volunteers rapidly increased to over 2,182 and together helped with 14,700 km2 worth of high resolution satellite imagery, helping identity over 3`128 damages buildings.

Xiaomi have to suspend Smartphone sales in India


The Delhi High Court has ordered Chinese budget smartphone maker Xiaomi Technology Co Ltd to temporarily stop selling its devices in India.Xiaomi, the Chinese Manufacturer which entered in Indian market with partnership with Flipkart will no longer be able to sell its mobile phones in India.
